Get Ahead Campaign Promotes Early Registration, Improves Retention
The spring 2020 registration campaign again emphasized a “Get Ahead” message for students, encouraging them to register early for the coming semester’s classes. The University realized strong retention with 91.5% of students enrolled in the fall semester continuing their studies in the spring,the highest fall-to-spring retention rate in more than a decade.
The campaign also promoted classes held during winter intersession, which saw a 10% increase in 2019-20 over the previous winter.
With the collective efforts of campus communicators across campus, the consistent message of “Get Ahead” reminds students to register each term to stay on track to graduation. In addition to printed posters and residence hall handbills, UToledo used digital marketing targeted to about 9,000 Facebook or Instagram users within one mile of campus who were aged 18-21 years old. Overall the campaigned received more than 123,000 impressions with 1,311 views to utoledo.edu/getahead.
The next registration campaign will be launching soon to encourage students to register for fall 2020 and emphasizing opportunities for summer classes.
